Berry Coconut Collagen Smoothie

There are smoothies you drink because you should, and there are smoothies you drink because you actually want to. This one is firmly in the second camp.

Mixed berries, creamy coconut yogurt, and a little chia magic come together in a blender to make something that tastes more like a frozen dessert than a wellness ritual.

We've added a tablespoon of NothingFishy's collagen to round it out. It blends in seamlessly. However, feel free to skip, it will be just as good!

Ingredients

Serves 1 generously (or 2 small glasses)

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries - whatever you have and/or prefer!)
  • ½ cup coconut yogurt (the thick, unsweetened kind works best)
  • 1 tablespoon NothingFishy's collagen
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • ½ cup plant milk (oat or coconut both work beautifully, but feel free to experiment)
  • ½ frozen banana (optional, for extra creaminess and natural sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or some stevia, to taste (optional)
  • A small handful of ice, if you like it extra cold

Method

  1. Add the wet ingredients first.
Pour the plant milk and coconut yogurt into your blender. Starting with the liquids helps everything blend evenly and saves your blades some work.
  2. Layer in the rest.
Add the frozen berries, banana (if using), chia seeds, and your tablespoon of NothingFishy's collagen. If you're sweetening, add the maple syrup now too.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Start on low and work up to high. You're looking for a thick, spoonable texture - about 45 seconds to a minute. If it's too thick, splash in a little more plant milk; if it's too thin, add a few cubes of ice or a spoonful more yogurt.
  4. Let it sit for one minute.
This little pause lets the chia seeds soften and the smoothie thicken just a touch more. Worth the wait.
  5. Pour, top, and enjoy.
Tip into your favourite glass. Top with a few fresh berries, a sprinkle of coconut flakes, or a drizzle of nut butter if you're feeling fancy.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use frozen berries, not fresh
Frozen gives you that thick, milkshake-like consistency without needing tons of ice (which can water things down).
  • Make it a smoothie bowl
Halve the plant milk and serve it in a bowl with granola, sliced banana, and chia on top.
  • Coconut yogurt swap.
No coconut yogurt? Greek-style plant yogurt or even silken tofu (¼ cup) will both work for that creamy body.

Creamy, berry-bright, and quietly doing good things for you. The kind of recipe you'll come back to all summer long.
