Algae Omega 3 makes guest appearance on Channel 4's 'Food Unwrapped'
Posted on April 16
In case you missed it, Channel 4 did a nice piece highlighting the benefits of Algae Omega 3 in their recent episode of 'Food Unwrapped'. Here's a short clip:
By the way, our Algae Omega 3's are the ones that Dr. Rob Winwood (the Omega 3 expert) speaks about. They are derived from the microscopic algae in the sea - microalgae. He then explains the difference between the Omega fatty acids containing DHA (fish and algae oil) and those containing ALA (nuts and grains).
Quite simply, Omega 3 DHA is good for the heart, brain and eyes, whereas Omega 3 ALA is good for hair and nails. This is why Flaxseed Omega 3 is not a true replacement for Omega 3 from Fish Oil, as it doesn't contain DHA. To get the full health benefits of Omega 3 DHA, you'll need to be eating an oily fish every day, or of course, an Algae Omega capsule.
We're big fans of Food Unwrapped and the whole episode is worth a watch if you have 30 minutes.
